How we handle your child's photo

Last updated 9 October 2026

  • Only parents and legal guardians may upload a child's photo, and you confirm that each time you upload one.
  • The photo is used once, to create a cartoon avatar. To do that it is sent to OpenAI, or to Google Gemini if OpenAI can't make an avatar from it. Stories use the avatar, not the photo.
  • The original photo is deleted automatically as soon as you choose an avatar (or after 7 days if you don't), unless you choose to keep it. Avatars you don't pick are deleted too.
  • Photos and avatars are stored privately and are never public.
  • You can delete the photo, the avatar, or the whole child profile at any time. Stories already made keep their pictures until you delete them.
  • We never use your child's photo to train AI models, and our AI providers' paid business services don't use it for training either.
